Are Buyer's Agent fees tax deductible?

In Australia, expenses related to the management of an investment property, including buyer's agent fees, may be tax-deductible. On the other hand, if you are purchasing a property for personal use, such as your primary residence, buyer's agent fees are generally not tax-deductible.


In the past, Clients of ours have been able to claim our fees as a "Capital Expense" and not until the sale of their investment property however, it's crucial to keep detailed records of any expenses, including buyer's agent fees, and consult with a tax professional to determine the specific tax implications based on your individual situation and the purpose of the property purchase.
